Working closely with Tarmac, S Evans & Sons where responsible for the safe and successful demolition of the 25ft high single carriage way A522 bridge which crossed over the A50 dual carriage way. The Demolition was carried out successfully and safely and within a weekend road closure.

Due to the construction of the bridge, a methodical temporary works design was developed to mitigate the risk of any premature collapse, preventing severe damage to the carriage way and ensuring the safety of our demolition operatives during the demolition works

Once the bridge deck was dismantled using 45t and 50t excavators, the arising’red away from the area to allow the central support and side walls to then be demolished. Dust suppression was used throughout the works to minimize the dust where possible from the works.

During further clearing away of the demolition arising’s the embankments where graded to leave the site in a safe and clear manner ready for a new bridge to be installed
