Package 9, Whitby

Back to Case Studies

This package consisted of the demolition and dismantling of four non-historic railway bridge spans over water. Due to their unique construction they had reached the end of their life span (the bridges once featured in Heartbeat’s famous train scene). A complex and specialist demolition sequence was implemented to deal with issues such as access and egress restraints and time limitations to ensure the bridges were safely and successfully removed in a blockade possession.
