GIVING SOMETHING BACK THIS CHRISTMAS

T’is the time of year for goodwill to all – so we were keen to support two great causes this Christmas.

VINCI Building UK’s social value Christmas community support project in Blackpool and BAM Nuttall’s support of community not-for-profit Darlington Cares, struck a real chord with us as they’re in places we’ve been working over the last couple of months.

VINCI Building UK’s project aids Blackpool’s Salvation Army toy appeal, which supports struggling families in the town and up the Fylde coast.  Last year, The Salvation Army put smiles on the faces of more than 2,500 local children thanks to the generosity of the local community.

Our team donated an array of gifts and toys, all of which have been handed over to Vinci for delivery to Blackpool.

We also compiled six food hampers and collected two sacks of toys, hats and gloves to contribute to Bam Nuttall’s donation to the Darlington Cares Christmas Appeal. The toys and selection boxes will be sent to The Teesside Family Foundation, ready for wrapping by 20 BAM Nuttall volunteers in the week before Christmas. The food hampers will be donated to Kings Foodbank, which distributes hundreds of food parcels to Darlington families at Christmas.

Hannah Mackinlay said: “Christmas can be stressful for many families, especially those facing financial pressure.  Donating a gift or food helps to ease the burden on parents and spread a little joy. Every child should get a visit from Santa and a meal on the table.  We were only too happy to support two important local causes and our friends at VINCI Building UK and Bam Nuttall.”
