Foot Bridge demolition

The removal of the Teapot Lane footbridge was an integral part of the M20 Smart Motorway Upgrade program and, thanks to our team, was completed 
within a restricted time frame and with minimal disruption for motorists.

The work required numerous complex lifts using a 450 tonne crane and specialist concrete cutting, as well as mechanical demolition techniques to reduce sensitive parts of the structure and the use of dust suppression systems. A temporary works design was issued for each stage of the demolition, which also required particular elements of the structures to remain intact ready for reuse when building the new bridge.
